God. Creation. Art. Grab a Cuppa Joe and Let's Talk...

God. Creation. Art. How do they intertwine? How do they apply to the modern world? How have they worked in the past? What is their role in society? What is their purpose? How have they been neglected? How have they been exploited? What is our role as Christian artists and how do we translate it all into our everyday life? These questions and more fascinate us. So, we thought it would be interesting to start a blog and see what kind of network and conversations would result.

So, grab a cuppa Joe, and let’s start talking…

Prayers for the Arts

Here are the starts of our ongoing prayers for the arts....join us as we seek God's heart and intercede for his power to intervene, and feel free to post your prayers.

Our prayers...

I want to see churches become artistic playing fields. I want to see touching and powerful works of art displayed. I want to see some seemingly appear out of thin air. I want to see dancing become a natural part of worship-time, as normal as singing songs. I want to hear scripture read with strong voices of power that know how to emote it as the WORD of GOD. I want to see films--narrative and documentary--brought in as elements within the worship time. I want to see the use of arts improvised within the church service as the Holy Spirit leads, with complete freedom. I want this to lead to renewed understanding, passion, and inspiration of and for professional artists working in the "secular" environment. I want a connection and mutual attachment and appreciation to form between the two environments. I want both to be supportive, encouraging, and further enabling the other. The professional artist through teaching and examples of quality, the ones in the church through prayer, support, and acceptance.

I want to see art so full of truth, beauty, quality, and purity that it brings people to tears. I want to get more Christians excited about the arts and what God is doing and going to do through them. I want those hostile to many areas of the arts to see a change and transformation.

Most of all, I want God to have his way. I want to see God the artist revealed in full glory. I want God the artist to be seen in all art that is created.

I want to see the arts being used as a way of connecting people and creating communities. I want to see the arts used as a way of teaching, expressing, exploring, and understanding the Word and heart of God.

I want to see the arts used in intercession. Used as a form of spiritual warfare. I want to see the influential  power of the arts transform and transcend culture and society for the better.

And the list goes on and on....

Lord Jesus, have your way.
